Problem

Zippers typically can’t be recycled

Traditionally, press-to-close zippers need to be removed from packaging so it can be recycled. This is due to multiple types of plastic being used for both the packaging and the closing apparatus, a.k.a. the zipper. This results in making it difficult to recycle and therefore unacceptable to most recycling centers.
